Meet Reza, the heart and soul behind Berempah. Originally from Bengkulu, Sumatra, Reza's culinary journey began in his mother's kantin - a small eatery where he learned that cooking is about more than recipes; it's about bringing people together and creating memories through food.
After years of working in various Indonesian restaurants across the Netherlands and honing his craft in Amsterdam's vibrant culinary scene, Reza built a loyal following as "Reza In Holland" on YouTube, where he shares authentic Indonesian recipes and cooking techniques with over 159,000 subscribers. His passion for preserving and promoting Indonesian cuisine has earned him a Silver Button and the trust of a community that craves the genuine taste of home.

But Reza's dream was always bigger than just sharing recipes online. He wanted to create a space where the Indonesian diaspora could find comfort and where Dutch locals could experience true Indonesian hospitality. After experiencing burnout in the demanding restaurant industry, Reza realized it was time to follow his own path - one that honors tradition while expressing his creativity without compromise.​
In January 2025, that dream became reality when Reza, together with his close friends Akong and Comex Comariah, opened Berempah in The Hague. This partnership brought together shared passion, complementary skills, and a unified vision to create something truly special. Here, Reza cooks with the same love and respect his mother taught him, using traditional techniques and authentic spices to bring the true flavors of Indonesia to every plate. Every dish tells a story, and every meal is an invitation to experience the warmth of Indonesian home cooking.
